The tongue is the muscular organ located in the cavity of the mouth of vertebrates and is used to taste, swallow and articulate sounds.
Death and life are in the power of the tongue; and whoever loves her will eat her fruits. Proverbs 18:21.

Look at the ships; Although they are so large and driven by strong winds, they are nevertheless steered by a very small rudder where the pilot's will wants.

So also the tongue is a small member, and yet it boasts of great things. See, what a great forest catches fire with such a small fire! What power is in the tongue.

And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is placed between our members, which contaminates the whole body, is ignited by hell and inflames the course of our life. James 3: 4,5,6.

How many times have we fallen into the misuse of the language?

We destroy a relationship, we kill the seed in others, we discourage rather than encourage, we damage someone's reputation, we make inappropriate jokes, we yell in the heat of anger, we offend, we lie, we criticize, we reprimand in public, and all this translates in sadness and estrangement from those beings we love.

For He who wants to love life and see good days, restrain his tongue from evil and his lips do not speak deceit. 1 Peter 3:10.

He who guards his mouth and his tongue guards his soul from troubles. Proverbs 21:23.

Let our prayer be: LORD, set a guard over my mouth; Watch the door of my lips. Psalm 141: 3.

If you have used your tongue in a destructive way, repent and ask forgiveness of God and those you have hurt with your words, and decide to use that power on your tongue to bless.

God bless you,
