The only survivor of a shipwreck reached the beach of a tiny, uninhabited island.

He fervently asked God to be rescued, and every day he scanned the horizon for help, but it did not seem to arrive.

Tired, he finally decided to build himself a log cabin to protect himself and store his few belongings.

Then one day, after prowling the island in search of food, he returned home only to find his little cabin engulfed in flames, smoke rising to the sky.

The worst had happened, I had lost everything. He was stunned with sadness and anger: "My God, how could you do this to me?" he lamented.

However, the next day he was awakened by the noise of a ship approaching the island. They had come to rescue him.

- How did you know I was here? - He asked his rescuers.
"We saw your smoke signal," they answered.

The next time your cabin goes up in smoke, remember that it may be the sign that God's help and grace is on the way.
