I am glad that every time we cross the threshold of a new year we ignore what will bring us.
I'm glad we can't lift the veil of time and see what awaits us.
What we do know is that we can leave the past behind, with all its worries and concerns, its sorrows and troubles, its mistakes and setbacks.
That sounds great to me.
All this is forever relegated to the past, and is unalterable. We cannot undo a single act or neglect a single thoughtless word.
Every year is an opportunity to start over.
If you have accepted Jesus as Savior, you do not have to carry guilt and regret.
All the mistakes, sorrows and sorrows of the past year are in the hands of the almighty God and have been covered by His love.
God can give you "glory instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the mantle of gladness instead of the troubled spirit" (Isaiah 61: 3). He can bring forth honey from the rock and sweet water from the bitter desert of the past, no matter how it was (Deuteronomy 32:13; Isaiah 41:18).
All that is promised in His Word to His own.
"To those who love God, all things work together for good"
He can make it all work for us.
Although many people claim to believe in God's mercy and forgiveness, they worry about the stains on the pages of their past.
They never fully enjoy the fact that God has already erased them.
Who will want to live in the past when the future is so promising?
«Certainly forgetting what is behind, and extending myself to what is ahead,
I continue to the goal, to the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. "
Philippians 3: 13-14
Regardless of how your past has been, Jesus can turn so radiant
your future that you want to last forever.
And the good thing is that it will be eternal!
