Mrs. Pepita, well balanced and proud of her 92 years of age, was completely ready like every morning at 8 o'clock, with her hair well combed and a perfectly applied makeup despite being almost blind, ready to move to a nursing home today of elderly.

The one who had been her husband for 70 years had died, necessitating the transfer.

After many hours of patiently waiting at the reception at the nursing home, she smiled sweetly when she was told that her room was ready. As she maneuvered her walker to the elevator, I gave her a detailed description of her little room, including the sheets and curtains that had been hung on her window.

"I love them," she said with the enthusiasm of an 8-year-old who has just been shown a new puppy.

"Mrs. Nugget! you haven't seen the room yet…. Wait".

"That has nothing to do with it," she said. Happiness is something that one decides in advance.

Whether I like my room or not does not depend on how the place is arranged, it depends on how I arrange my mind. I had already decided in advance that I would love it ”. "It's a decision I make every morning when I get up."

“These are my possibilities: I can spend the day in bed listing the difficulties I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or I can get out of bed and be thankful for those that do work.

Every day is a gift, and by the time my eyes open I will focus on the new day and the happy memories that I have kept in my mind… just for this moment in my life.

Old age is like a bank account ... you draw from what you have deposited in it. "

"So my advice to you would be to put a lot of happiness in the bank account of your memories."

Remember these 5 simple rules to be happy:

(a) Free your heart from hatred,

(b) Free your mind of worries,

(c) Live humbly,

(d) Give more and

(e) Expect less.

Very good example for our life. We need to understand that nothing makes us happy or someone makes us happy. We decide to be happy or not. Now having the Lord in our life is the main reason to be happy.

You already are?

Do not expect much. Do it before the end of this year.

Do all things without grumbling or arguing, so that you may be blameless and simple, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, in the midst of which you shine as lights in the world, firmly holding the word of life, to so that I have cause to glory in the day of Christ, since I will not have run in vain nor have I worked in vain.
